Pokémon Quest, a free-to-play Pokémon game recently released for the Nintendo Switch, offers a unique experience for fans of the franchise.

What Is 'Pokémon Quest'?
Pokémon Quest is not like the traditional RPGs in the series, with the first noticeable change being the departure from 2D and 3D art to a boxy theme similar to Minecraft.
Players split their time between building their base camp and exploring Tumblecube Island. In the base camp, players decorate their base or cook to try to attract new Pokémon, just like in cat collecting game Neko Atsume.
In exploring the island, players bring up to three Pokémon with them to fight wild Pokémon and gather resources.

New Pokémon Quest players will need to choose their starter Pokémon, and they will have five choices: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, and Eevee.
Players should choose their starter Pokémon wisely, depending on how they want to play the game. For example, Charmander is strong offensively, Bulbasaur is strong defensively, while Eevee is balanced.
The secret to quick progress in Pokémon Quest is to keep completing daily quests and challenges to acquire PM tickets. Using these items will help players in leveling up their Pokémon faster. Players should also remember to sign in every day to keep claiming rewards.
Players will collect various Power Stones over the course of Pokémon Quest. These Power Stones offer different types of bonuses when equipped to Pokémon. Slotting three Power Stones in a row will also grant a Bingo Bonus.
At the base camp, it is important to keep cooking and decorating. Cooking using ingredients of one color will attract Pokémon of the same color while decorating provides different effects on various aspects of Pokémon Quest.
'Pokémon' On Nintendo Switch
Pokémon Quest, which surpassed one million downloads just four days after its release, was announced alongside Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! These two Pokémon games for the Nintendo Switch feature many similarities with the mobile game Pokémon Go.
Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!, however, are not the core RPG games that Nintendo is planning for the hybrid console. This title will be released next year.
In November last year, NPD analyst Mat Piscatella said that demand for the hybrid console will rise even higher once Pokémon for Nintendo Switch is released.
