It's finally here. The Oppo N1 CyanogenMod Edition is now available for purchase from OppoStyle website and a few other select retailers. However, unless you're a fan of CyanogenMod, we suggest you steer away from this phone because it's quite expensive.
The 16GB Oppo N1 costs a bomb - €449/$599 - and runs CyanogenMod version 10.2 out of the box.
Oppo N1 is the first and only device that comes preinstalled with CyanogenMod. Customers will be able to choose between Android (4.2) or CyanogenMod to run on the device. The smartphone has also been able to obtain the "no-objection" certificate from Google. This means that N1 will include Google Play and other Google apps, overcoming one of the biggest challenges that normal CyanogenMod users face after installation.
The smartphone is one of the finest looking Android phones available, and boasts 5.9-inch screen with 1080p display, and sports a 13-megapixel swiveling camera that can be rotated 206 degrees for both rear and front-facing shots. However, note that Oppo N1 doesn't support LTE.
Cyanogen has also released the source code making it easier for power users to further customize and hack their handsets.
Cyanogen Inc., which recently raised $23 million, will be hoping that its heavily popular open source custom ROM which is based on Android platform, will become the third most popular mobile operating system in the world after Android and iOS.
