You may not recognize the name of YouTube channel Corridor Digital, but you've probably seen its videos.
Corridor Digital, comprised of VFX maestros Sam Gorski and Niko Pueringer, promote their effects business by producing short videos and posting them online. Gorski and Pueringer happen to be hardcore gamers, so many of their short films are themed around popular video games, in which they bring to life the concepts or mechanics from said games. And the shorts they put out are easily among the best we've ever seen.
In the past, they've taken on franchises that include Minecraft, Team Fortress, Battlefront, Assassin's Creed, Max Payne, Far Cry, Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Splinter Cell, Rayman and more. Most recently, the directors, who often star in their own films, produced an almost-eight-minute official short film based on Shadow of Mordor. While they excel at visual effects and do comedy well, they also have a real flair for action.
Today, Gorski and Pueringer dropped a brand new video for their fans. They've done Portal before under a more serious lens, but today's vid pairs a Portal gun with basketball for some crazy fun. The two of them play scientists who engage in a contest of one-upsmanship, devising more and more elaborate trick shots. It culminates in a gasp-worthy moment that's laugh-out-loud funny.
