Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for the Nintendo Switch, which was originally launched on the Nintendo Wii U, remains a hard game to play, even with the addition of the overpowered Funky Kong.
The game adds to the list of Nintendo Wii U games that were revived for the Nintendo Switch, including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Pokkén Tournament DX, and Bayonetta 2. Like most of the other games, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze arrives in the hybrid console with some changes. However, the game's difficulty is still a challenge, even for hardcore players.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Switch Vs Wii U
Nintendo recently launched Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for the Nintendo Switch, four years after the game was originally released for the failed Nintendo Wii U.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for the Nintendo Switch, however, is not just a direct port, with a few changes coming to the updated version.
The two-player co-op mode, which was present in the Nintendo Wii U version, returns for the Nintendo Switch. However, the controls have been updated to work with the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons instead of the Nintendo Wii Remotes.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze also offers Original Mode and Hard Mode. Original Mode is available from the beginning, but for players who are looking for more of a challenge, they can unlock Hard Mode. This can be done by collecting the four K-O-N-G pieces in each level, and completing all of the hidden island Secret Seclusion levels in either Original Mode or Funky Mode.
In Funky Mode, which is not found in the Nintendo Wii U version, players can use the overpowered Funky Kong and enjoy additional hearts, refreshed items, and the option to skip levels.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Difficulty
In Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, players can have Donkey Kong team up with Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, and Cranky Kong to take advantage of their different abilities. Using Funky Kong, however, allows players to practically access all those skills at once such as hovering over obstacles with Funky Kong's surfboard and swimming underwater without a time limit.
Unfortunately, even when using Funky Kong, players might still find Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze as a difficult game to play. In fact, when players fail several times on a level, the game will offer the players to skip that level. They will lose their K-O-N-G letters and Puzzle Pieces, and won't be able to play Time Attack on that level until they re-play it and hit a Slot Machine Barrel.
Does Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze fall under the category of the hardest Donkey Kong games of all time? The answer depends on each player, but one thing is for sure: it is not as easy as playing Nintendo's Kirby games.
