Ubisoft revealed several details about Beyond Good and Evil 2, the highly anticipated prequel to 2003's Beyond Good and Evil, including its gameplay and character creation feature.
In Beyond Good and Evil 2, players will rise through the ranks from a lowly pirate to a legendary captain as they explore a vast solar system known as System 3. Not much else has been revealed about the game, until now.
'Beyond Good and Evil 2' Gameplay, Character Creation, And More
Ubisoft, through an official blog post, revealed some of the progress that the Beyond Good and Evil 2 development team has made on the game.
The video that Ubisoft released showed off the first look at Beyond Good and Evil 2 gameplay. The character Shani was shown flying through the air on her jetpack, with a move that allows her to jump into a spacecraft and slam into enemies. Shani is also shown pulling off some acrobatic moves with her staff, which were created through motion capture technology.
Ubisoft, through a Twitch stream, also revealed that there will be a Beyond Good and Evil 2 character creation feature. Players will be able to choose from different species when creating their character, which is different from the original Beyond Good and Evil where players controlled Jade.
It was also revealed that Jade was born before the events that transpire in Beyond Good and Evil 2, which should give fans a grasp of where the prequel fits in the series' timeline.
In Beyond Good and Evil 2, players will enjoy a seamless environment with no loading screens. They will also be able to recruit crew members from humans and hybrids alike, with each one fulfilling a role once they are on the player's ship.
'Beyond Good and Evil 2' Release Date
Beyond Good and Evil 2 was actually first announced in 2008, five years after the launch of the first game in the series. However, it was not heard from again until E3 2017, when Ubisoft rolled out a new cinematic trailer that showed the game heading in a new direction.
While Ubisoft revealed more information about the highly anticipated game, there remain many more questions. There is still no Beyond Good and Evil 2 release date, as well as no details on the platforms where it will launch.
Beyond Good and Evil 2 made a triumphant return at E3 2017, so fans are hoping that Ubisoft will reveal more about the game at E3 2018, which will run from June 12 to June 14.
