Window shoppers who like to soak in the spirit of the holiday season can now do the same virtually -- all thanks to Google Maps.
On Dec. 19, Google released the new feature for Google Maps in the form of Business View, which will enable holiday shoppers to indulge in the revelry of going to the shopping mall in the comfort of their own home.
"Starting today, with Google Maps Business View, you can see decked out displays in New York and London -- without braving the cold weather, lugging bags around or fighting for sidewalk space with fellow shoppers. Now grab your virtual reindeer because we're off to our holiday window tour!" revealed Google.
Google has posted several pictures that show the Business View feature in action. Through the Business View, holiday shoppers can check out Saks Fifth Avenue dressed up in all the Christmas finery as the twinkling fairy lights beckon the shoppers.
Hop over to Macy's at Herald Square if you fancy seeing Santa and his elves at work. Head over to Bloomingdale's to be enthralled by the magical lights as New York readies itself for the New Year.
On the other side of the Atlantic, Business View offers you spectacular views of London as you browse through the winter wonderland at Selfridges and soak in the displays at Liberty London.
With Google bridging the gap between the virtual and the real world, holiday shoppers will not only take a tour of the window displays of retail stores but also get to peek inside.
"Business View provides virtual tours of thousands of retail shops around the world, whether you're headed to Old Navy in San Francisco or Benetton in Russia. Just look for the 'See Inside' marker on Maps, Search and Google+, which lets you virtually explore your holiday shopping destination," said Google.
Internet users can check out the store displays online and take Business View tours.
