Nokia 7 Plus Launching Soon In The UK, Bundling Free Google Home Mini

The Nokia 7 Plus that made its debut back at the Mobile World Congress 2018 is now available for preorder in the UK, and it comes with a free Google Home Mini.

Nokia 7 Plus UK Release

Nokia's new parent company, HMD Global, announced that the Black/Copper version of the Nokia 7 Plus with 64 GB of native storage space is now up for preorder straight from the Nokia website in the UK, retailing at £349.99 or about $490.

Other UK retailers, meanwhile, are expected to start taking preorders for the smartphone next week, on April 25. Those who preorder the Nokia 7 Plus directly from Nokia should expect to receive their new smartphone on May 2, based on the product listing.

Nokia 7 Plus With Free Google Home Mini

As part of a new promotion at launch, the Nokia 7 Plus also bundles a free Google Home Mini smart speaker. This is a limited-time deal set to expire on June 14. To take advantage of this offer, Nokia 7 Plus customers will have to head over to the Nokia website starting on May 2 and enter their smartphone's IMEI number to redeem the free speaker.

The Nokia 8 Sirocco and the Nokia 6 also qualify for the same deal, packing a free Google Home Mini.

Nokia 7 Plus Specs

For those unfamiliar with the device, the Nokia 7 Plus is by no means a flagship offering, but it offers solid midrange specs at an affordable price point. The handset features a 6-inch LCD display with a full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor under the hood

Moreover, it has 4 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of internal storage space, expandable up to 256 GB with the help of a microSD card.

The Nokia 7 Plus further comes with a dual-rear camera setup consisting of a standard 12-megapixel camera and a 13-megapixel telephoto lens, Carl Zeiss optics, and a 16-megapixel front-facing shooter.

A large 3,800 mAh battery keeps things up and running and should deliver a strong performance on a single charge.

On the software side, the Nokia 7 Plus comes with Android 8.0 Oreo on board out-of-the-box, but under Google's Android One program. It means that it should get timely OS updates as soon as they become available, and it won't have annoying bloatware preinstalled.

In terms of design, although it's not a high-end device with flagship specs, the Nokia 7 Plus sports a sleek look thanks to its aluminum build embellished with ceramic paint.

It's worth pointing out that Amazon UK also lists the Nokia 7 Plus is available for preorder with an April 30 shipping date but it makes no mention of the Google Home Mini bundle. HMD Global has yet to announce which retailers will offer the promotional bundle, but more information should become available shortly.
