Moto Z3 Play Partial Specs Revealed By FCC: Snapdragon 636, 6.1-Inch Display, And More

The Moto Z3 Play passes through the FCC, revealing some of its key specifications and apparently, the leaks are not too far off.

Moto Z3 Play Specifications Revealed

The FCC filing was made for a Motorola handset with the model number XT-1929. According to the listing, the Moto Z3 Play is equipped with a Qualcomm processor, which is the Snapdragon 636, plus a 4 GB RAM.

The phone is coming in two memory configurations: 32 GB and 64 GB. There are also single-sim and double-sim models coming to different locations. However, it looks like the United States is only getting the 64 GB and single-sim configurations.

The display size stands at 6.1 inches while the dimensions are similar to the Moto Z2 Play. It should mean that the mods will be compatible with the latest model as well.

The Moto Z3 Play also has a 5-megapixel camera. In line with the previously leaked renders of a case, it has a dual-camera setup at the back, which is expected to have 12-megapixel and 8-megapixel sensors.

Aside from these, fans also expect at least a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood.

There is no information regarding the price as of now, but it's speculated to be around $450 to $500.

Moto Z3 And Z3 Play Might Be Coming In April

Motorola is tight-lipped when it comes to the release of its premium line of handsets. However, there's a chance that the Moto Z3 and Moto Z3 Play are both arriving in April.

Along with the announcement of the recent change in leadership, Motorola also teased something special coming soon.

"We realize we've had a great deal of transformation over the past years, and we're grateful for our fans' support and commitment," the announcement reads.

"We're excited for what 2018 (and beyond!) is going to bring us and look forward to sharing our first products of the year with you next month!"

Moto Z3 is the higher-end version of the Z3 Play with either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or 845 chip paired with at least 6 GB of RAM under the hood. With the higher specifications, however, comes a much higher price.

Fans also speculate that Motorola is dropping the Z3 handsets sometime in July or August. In 2017, the Z2 line was released a few weeks apart around that time, leading many to believe that the company might be referring to other phones.

A likely candidate is the Moto G6, a midrange smartphone recently spotted on TENAA. It should come with the Moto G6 Play as well.
