The Witcher 3's HDR patch, months after CD Projekt Red's announcement, is still nowhere to be seen, and fans are getting restless.
The enhanced version for the Xbox One X was released in December 2017, which is when the studio made the announcement for the PlayStation 4 Pro. CDPR got back to The Witcher 3 players at the end of February, saying that more information would come the following week. However, that particular week passed by without any useful news.
CDPR Gives New 'The Witcher 3' HDR Patch Update
Now, the studio has given another update in the form of a tweet from Marcin Momot, community lead at CDPR. It's a disappointing one, though.
"PS4 Pro HDR patch is still very much in development," said Momot. "Due to the fact that we've discovered some additional bugs along the way, we need more time to finish it."
He also asked fans to be more patient as the studio is working to release a quality update.
Momot stayed on Twitter to answer some questions, which gave fans another detail about the patch. According to him, the original PlayStation 4 will also support The Witcher 3 HDR when the patch is released.
When asked if the PlayStation 4 Pro update will improve the frame rate like in the Xbox One X, Momot dodged the question and instead stated that the full changelog will be available upon release of the patch.
Still, fans can expect an improved performance on the Pro console. CDPR previously announced that the patch will include technical tweaks to improve the overall experience specifically for the PlayStation 4 Pro.
CDPR Bringing 'Cyberpunk 2077' After 'The Witcher 3'
Apart from the PlayStation 4 HDR patch, CDPR is also working on another RPG titled Cyberpunk 2077. It's set in a dystopian sci-fi future when humans and machines have integrated deeply, far from what fans became familiar with in The Witcher 3. However, like The Witcher 3, it comes with a deep lore with interesting characters and setting.
It's unclear when Cyberpunk 2077 will be released, but CDPR looks to be hoping for a 2019 launch. Earlier this March, President Adam Kiciński teased that the game has very advanced technology that would run on some powerful hardware of the future. Although he specifically said that he has no knowledge of the new iteration of consoles, he is confident that the technology they're using now will be ready to assimilate into the future generation.
Meanwhile, CDPR is attending E3 2018 that kicks off on June 12. More details about Cyberpunk 2077 are expected then.
