Honor View10 Available Now In The US

As it turns out, Honor's estimate was off by just one day. On March 23, orders are shipping out and it is now up for sale on the online store of Huawei's sub-brand, Honor.

Honor's website lets buyers choose between two colors of the View10, blue and black. According to the listing, every purchase comes with a free case, three months of screen protection, and a $30 gift card for the HiHonor website. The Honor View10 is priced at $499 and comes with Android 8 out of the box.

Honor View10 Specifications

For half the price of the iPhone X, buyers can get a phone with high-end specifications and a modern design. The Honor View10 comes packed with a Kirin 970, the latest Huawei HiSilicon processor, that's also seen in the Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. The flagship also comes with a massive 128 GB internal storage paired with 6 GB of RAM.

The 3,750 mAh battery can be quickly recharged with the Honor Supercharge and via the USB Type-C port. A microSD slot, a mono speaker unit, and a headphone jack are also present.

Honor View10 Screen, Camera, Features

At the front side of the Honor View10, there's a 5.99-inch with 18:9 aspect ratio, which helps with the grip and handling. The home button sits at the bottom and features a capacitive fingerprint reader.

The fingerprint reader offers gesture controls that users can tweak in the Settings menu. This allows them to set up taps and swipes to replace the on-screen navigation keys.

As for the camera, the View10 showcases a 16-megapixel/20-megapixel dual-camera setup at the back and a 13-megapixel shooter at the front. The front snapper has a wide aperture mode, allowing users to take photos of themselves with the "bokeh" effect.

The rear cameras use the Neural Processing Unit in the chipset to automatically choose the right scene mode. According to the website, the Honor flagship can recognize 13 types of scenes and different objects.

The NPU also optimizes the memory based on the usage, one of its advantages over other chips such as the Snapdragon 835.

The website also lists a face recognition feature called the AI-Facial Unlock.

"The Honor View10 provides security and convenience with facial unlock. Keep your notification information and your phone secure with a fast face unlock feature in EMUI 8.0," the feature reads.

It's not yet available on the Honor View10. Rather, it's promised to be coming in the next update, which will allow it to fully compete with the big flagship phones today.
