The holiday season is an emotional time. It's obviously a happy part of the year for many, with parties, presents and good cheer all around. But it can also be stressful, full of drama and bring up some good and bad memories alike.
Apple's new holiday commercial captures all of the feels of the season. In the 90-second spot titled "The Song," a young woman is searching through old records when she stumbles upon a very special one her once-young grandmother dedicated to presumably her grandfather. On the record, the song sounds old and grainy, but you can still hear the love.
However, now that it's in this youngster's hands, it's going to make an awesome Christmas present, right? Using the power of Apple products, but of course, she turns this old 45 into a banging piece of new music with special effects and backing vocals and all that jazz. And how did her grandmother react, you ask? You're just going to have to watch this commercial to find out. Sorry, not sorry.
Apple's holiday ad from last year titled "Misunderstood" was equally touching. It featured a teenage boy always buried in his smartphone as many a teenage boy does. However, the 90-second spot came with a twist. Instead of just noodling around his smartphone because he wanted to avoid interacting with his family, the teen was actually filming and editing a video of "A Harris Family Holiday," chronicling his family's Christmas celebration. Isn't that just the most heartwarming thing you ever did see? Even better, the spot earned the 2014 Emmy for Outstanding Commercial.
Oh, Apple. You really do know how to make a girl cry.
