After 10 years of absence, Burnout Paradise Remastered is roaring "back to the world of Paradise City." The classic open-world racing game will restart March 16.
Criterion Games, which is under Electronic Arts, will sell the returning title for $39.99 packed with the all the familiar goods — the complete collection of 150 playable racing cars, the whole eight expansion packs, and the beloved original soundtrack that will be headlined by Guns N' Roses' "Paradise City". EA tipped of a visual treat that will surpass the serving first seen a decade ago.
According to EA, fans can surely expect "a complete graphics overhaul" with the remastered release, adding the refreshed title will get unleashed "with high-resolution textures and a range of technical enhancements designed to deliver all the high-octane chaos with an almost irresponsible level of visual fidelity."
By default, Burnout will run in 1080p on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and even better for console gamers on the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. In the latter two, the game will be on 4K resolution at 60 frames per second across all platforms, with EA indicating that a PC version is likely coming out soon.
Burnout Paradise Massively Enhanced
Burnout Paradise will deliver the same action-packed experience that gripped gamers when the title first came out. As explained by its creator, the remastered release "is as fun and unique today as it was ... 10 years ago."
"Burnout Paradise is an open world arcade racer built to provide players the thrill of racing with their friends, in a free form way that's both seamless and immersive. Featuring Criterion's trademark speed and destruction with awesome stunts and spectacular crashes," Criterion Games said in a press release.
The complete package, as mentioned, will include the DLCs provided with the original but will exclude the Time Savers Pack, which is the key to unlock all available vehicles in the game. EA said a Play First Trial will go live on March 9, which will allow playtime of up to 10 hours. The offer, however, is exclusive to EA Access subscribers.
Important Things To Know
The remastered Burnout Paradise will also feature an online multiplayer mode that can accommodate up to eight players, which EA said will apply on all gaming platforms, including an upcoming PC release. However, while the game publisher confirmed of a PC version, it also ruled out the possibility of coming up with a Nintendo Switch version.
It's interesting to note too that the original is still out in the market and remains optimal to play on the Xbox One. A copy sells for only $15, and going for it will lead to savings of $25 while enjoying nearly the same treat that is the Burnout Paradise Remastered.
