It's been a while since Nokia was involved in the rumor mill and well-known leaker, Evan Blass, showcases more than one to look forward to.
HMD Global previously teased that it has something awesome to unveil at the 2018 Mobile World Congress. However, it looks like the public might have stumbled upon the possible final design for the manufacturer's new flagship model.
Speculation hints that it will be called the Nokia 7 Plus. Moreover, the leaks include another mobile phone with entry-level hardware, which is supposedly called the Nokia 1.
Entry-Level Contender
Nokia is no stranger to low-end smartphones and last year, it released the 2017 remake of its best-selling 3310 mobile phone. Now, with the Nokia 1, HMD Global aims to offer an Android-powered handset with lightweight specifications that can run on Android Go, which requires at least a 512 MB to 1 GB of RAM.
The recent leaks did not specify the speculated hardware that comes with it, so it looks like users would have to wait until the manufacturer releases more details about it.
2018 Flagship Device Design
Based on the leaked design posted by Blass on Twitter, the Nokia 7 plus appears to sport smaller bezels than previous Nokia models. It flaunts rounded edges even on the corners of its touchscreen display, which is reminiscent of Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8.
The front seems intentionally kept plain without capacitive buttons below the screen, with just the earpiece and the selfie camera up on top. The backside features a vertically-mounted dual-camera setup with a metallic border around the module.
A dual-tone LED flash sits on the right while its fingerprint sensor is positioned just below. A small secondary microphone pinhole can be seen on the top of the camera module. The left flank will presumably house the SIM card slot and microSD expansion slot as well. Its right side is populated by its volume rocker and power button.
A hint of a 3.5 audio jack is visible on top of the frame and the bottom holds its USB Type-C port, along with a bottom-firing speaker grille. Two color schemes were leaked for the Nokia 7 Plus: white with copper-colored accents and what looks like a Coffee Brown color with the same copper accents.
Hardware And Camera
According to Blass, the Nokia 7 Plus will carry a 6-inch display with a 2160 x 1070 FHD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio, which seems to be an ongoing trend among smartphones with minimal bezels. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC partnered with a 4 GB RAM appears to be sufficient enough to handle multitasking.
The rumored smartphone will also reportedly come with a 64 GB internal storage and a microSD slot of expandable storage if needed. The façade is graced by a single 16-megapixel front-facing camera while the main imaging sensors are two ZEISS-tuned 13-megapixel with 12-megapixel sensors, one of which is capable of a 2x optical zoom.
HMD Global has yet to officially announce the device's release date and pricing.
