If Pat Sajak is known for anything, it's his time as the host of Wheel of Fortune. He's one of the most well-known game show hosts in history, and for good reason: he's funny, he's likable and he's good with the contestants. He's right up there with Alex Trebec in terms of notoriety - however, if there's one thing Pat Sajak isn't known for, it's rapping.
William Shatner taught society that just because a person is famous doesn't mean they should go into music. Unfortuantely, Pat Sajak didn't learn, as he was seen singing Rae Sremmund's "No Type" on ESPN2's Highly Questionable:
It's painful to watch. It's almost as if Sajak has some personal vendetta against music as a whole, as he and Papi, Dan Le Batard's father, exchange lines in the most droll, unenthusiastic tones possible. It doesn't help that the song isn't anything special, but Sajak's delivery is nothing short of awful.
For comparison's sake, here's the actual song:
Sure, it's not the best song in the world, but it's certainly better than Pat Sajak's version. You'd think that, after a lifetime of showmanship and TV appearances, Sajak would have a bit more of a voice in him...apparently, that's just not the case.
Then again, maybe Sajak could incorporate more of his rap into Wheel of Fortune: all of the puzzles would be different song lyrics, everything would be auto-tuned and Sajak would be contractually obligated to speak only in rhyme.
There's your revamped Wheel of Fortune. Make it happen, Hollywood.
