It has been more than a year since Square Enix released the latest installment of their long-running role-playing game franchise.
PC gamers finally get an official release date for the award-winning RPG called Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition, which is great considering that they have waited for the developer's announcement for the longest time. For their patience, the PC version is apparently a complete package of every DLC and updates that were released for the consoles.
Meanwhile, console gamers who missed out on the original release or were patient enough to wait for all the content can grab the Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition.
A Complete Experience
The Royal Edition will be available for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and will include apparently everything the PC version offers. Gamers can enjoy the original base game with all the enhancements made to improve gameplay and its story.
Gamers can also enjoy the separate story content and gameplay for each one of the supporting protagonists. One of the DLC updates practically allows gamers to enjoy the main campaign and switch control over to their teammates like Prompto, Gladiolus, Ignis, and the bubbly Prompto.
Furthermore, the upcoming release will likewise include new never-before-seen content and game modes.
What's New
Square Enix released a new trailer that accompanied the announcement of Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition and Windows Edition, which previewed some of the original content included in the package.
A new map called Insomnia City Ruins will be available for players to explore. The new area will reportedly include unique side quests and several new encounters. Gamers can test their skills and fight against new bosses like the Rulers of Yore, Omega, and Cerberus.
Just like the recently added Regalia Type-D, which allows players to ride the vehicle offroad, a Royal Vessel boat will be useable to traverse the area between Altissia and Cape Caem. Doing so will grant access to new fishing spots, fishes, and dishes.
According to the product description, gamers will be able to find and equip and new accessory that unlocks the "Armiger Unleashed," which is an action-oriented mode for each Armiger. Lastly, a brand new first-person camera mode will have players experience the RPG through Noctis' POV.
DLC Content
As expected, Square Enix throws in all of the game's season pass contents such as Episode Prompto, Episode Gladiolus, Episode Ignis, and the Multiplayer Expansion: Comrades. DLC weapons, Regalia car skins, and item sets will reportedly be included.
Release Date And Price
Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition and Windows Edition will come out on March 6, 2018. Both versions will carry a retail price of $49.99.
