A leaked photo apparently shows off the new retail box for Samsung’s highly-anticipated smartphone, the Galaxy S9.
Although the validity of the leak has yet to be determined, this new information gives fans a lot more to look forward to. Reports say Samsung revealed it "is unable to comment" on the rumored leaked box. The new image popped up on Reddit and has allegedly shown the new retail box for the Galaxy S9.
Reports have pointed out that the details in the photo point to this leak being real. The white work space, the gloves the employee is wearing, and the layout and font are all pointers that this could, in fact, be the real deal.
The Details
The new image shows the back of the Samsung Galaxy S9’s box and gives a list of specs that the smartphone could possibly carry.
These new features include a 5.8-inch infinity Display screen that features a quad-HD resolution. The box also states that a long rumored feature will arrive to the smartphone with a dual-pixel rear camera and a 12-megapixel sensor.
Aside from those features, the Galaxy S9 will come with some other rumored specs such as an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, ideal for selfies. A stereo speaker, iP68 water and dust resistance, and 64GB of storage. Reports say that Samsung also added 4GB of RAM and says the phone will support wireless charging.
The box also speaks of a “super slow-mo” feature that is usually seen on Sony’s smartphone devices. The feature allows users to shoot in slow-motion video at 1,000 fps (frames per second).
This could be a good fake or this new leaked box features all of the rumored specs that have been circling the web for some time now.
The box does leave one big surprise, however, and that is the inclusion of the Samsung Iris Scanner feature.
Since the launch of Apple’s iPhone X, rumors have been suggesting that Samsung will include a high-quality feature such as face scanning to its coming device.
When Will The Samsung Galaxy S9 Release?
Early this week at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show, the company announced that the Samsung Galaxy S9 would be unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February. If the smartphone is unveiled at the expo then it will more than likely launch the next month in March.
