Qualcomm teases its newest SoC intended for next year. However, a recent leak shares some 2018 models that will come equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845.
Prior to the leaked list, the chipset manufacturer officially revealed their latest model earlier this month. Most market experts have already speculated what brand and models are set to accommodate the new component.
The leaked list confirms some of the suspected brands and their respective handset models that will sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845.
New Smartphones Confirmed
Sources note that the leaked document was posted on a Chinese site and reveals some models that are already expected. Additionally, some brand new models were supposedly outed way ahead of their manufacturers' intended schedule.
The leak also confirms some of the rumored hardware specifications for other flagship smartphones as well as their estimated launch windows.
Samsung
The Galaxy S9 and S9+ might be launch in February 2018 with the Galaxy Note 9 later by September 2018. Meanwhile, Samsung plans to release another Android-powered flip phone called the W2019.
LG
Current rumors further suggest that LG plans to be the first manufacturer to release a smartphone powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. Its G7 and G7+ could launch sometime in the same month as the Galaxy S9 and S9+, albeit, a little earlier. The LG V40 comes out a little later by September 2018.
Xiaomi
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer is expected to follow up with the Mi 7 in April 2018 while the bezel-less flagship Mi Mix 3 drops at a much later date next year.
OnePlus
The flagship killer lineup prepares two smartphone variants to bear the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. The OnePlus 6 is scheduled for June 2018 along with the OnePlus 6T set for December 2018.
Other Brands
The abovementioned manufacturers have probably signed a commitment with Qualcomm for more than one model planned for 2018. Other manufacturers are probably still in the planning stage for the rest of their new lineups.
Despite the struggling performance of this year's flagship, HTC lists the U12 as its sequel for a May 2018 launch.
Google is expected to release the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL around the same time next year. Motorola has the Moto Z 2019 model for November 2018. Sony adds another model called the Xperia XZ Pro-A planned for June 2018 along with the ZTE Nubia Z18.
Market Dominance
While there are other SoC manufacturers available like HiSilicon, Nvidia, Intel, Samsung, MediaTek, and more, Qualcomm continues to have the biggest market share for several years now. Most manufacturers are probably satisfied with the tried-and-tested quality of the Snapdragon series for their top-shelf models.
If such leaks are any indication, it looks like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 is set to continue that trend in 2018.
