Candy Crush Saga has emerged as the most favorite app among iOS users. The free-to-play app secured the first spot in the list of most downloaded apps released by Apple.

In the category of Top Free iPhone apps, YouTube was at the number 2 spot, followed by Temple Run 2 and Vine.

Games also ruled in the category of top paid apps as seven of the top ten paid apps on iOS were games. Minecraft, a premium game app with a price tag of $6.99 was the most downloaded paid app of the year.

Surprisingly in the top ten list, Twitter could not make it. Instead, other social networking services like Facebook, Vine, Snapchat and Instagram made their entries in the top 10.
