It's kind of awe inspiring the stuff that the Internet turns into a thing, isn't it? And by "the Internet," I mean Twitter. Back in June, Twitter users went ga-ga over the mugshot of one Jeremy Meeks, tweeting his smoldering gaze into a viral apocalypse. He was dubbed Hot Mugshot Guy, and the digital world fell in love.
Well, Hot Mugshot Guy, meet Cute Mugshot Girl, aka Alysa Bathrick of Raleigh, North Carolina. She was busted on Monday for allegedly selling Xanax, and exactly 49 minutes after she was released she tweeted her mugshot with this devil-may-care caption.
F*ck what you heard. And my mugshot's cute.
Bathrick's quote has already spawned plenty of obligatory Internet memes, and her undeniably attractive photo has made her a sensation to rival Alex from Target or the iconic Vodka Samm.
Maybe even Charlie Sheen.
How does this happen? How do random images or comments blow up on the Internet, turning regular Twitter users into newsworthy celebrities?
We have no idea, but someone totally needs to write a dissertation on the subject. It probably wouldn't even be that hard. Just throw in lots of words that pretentious college professors love like "synergistic" and "groupthink."
I digress.
But there you have it. Apparently, crushing on people's mugshots is now officially a thing.
One shudders to think what Twitter will fixate on next.
