The Steam Halloween Sale is finally online, offering PC gamers discounts on "spooky titles" for a few days until Nov. 1.
The Steam Halloween Sale date was previously leaked along with information about the upcoming Steam Autumn Sale and Steam Winter Sales. No titles were revealed in the leak, though, so now we'll take a look at the best games included in the Steam Halloween Sale.
Steam Halloween Sale: Best Games To Buy
The Steam Halloween Sale page lists everything that can be bought under the promotion, including a healthy number of horror games with discounts ranging from 15 percent to 90 percent.
Among the best games offered in the sale are Amnesia Collection, which includes Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, at 90 percent off for $3.49; Doom at 33 percent off for $20.09; Friday the 13th: The Game at 50 percent off for $19.99; Prey at 25 percent off for $29.99; Alien: Isolation at 70 percent off for $11.99; and the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise bundle at 80 percent off for $7.35.
The Steam Halloween Sale expands beyond PC games, though. Also offered at a discount under the sale are various virtual reality games for the HTC Vive and several horror movies. VR titles with a discount include Dreadhalls, The Brookhaven Experiment, and Monstrum, while movies on sale include Saw: The Complete Collection, Cabin Fever, and The Wake.
Gamers who want to buy something from the Steam Halloween Sale only have a few days to think about it. The sale ends at 10:00 a.m. PT on Nov. 1.
Steam Digital Gift Cards
The launch of the Steam Halloween Sale comes just after Valve rolled out the Steam digital gift cards, which provide an alternative to the physical gift cards and the online store's game gifting system.
While the Steam digital gift cards were probably meant to be used for the holidays, there are some people who simply like Halloween better. What better way to celebrate than to give away horror games and movies, right?
Of course, there's always the option to use Steam digital gift cards for the two remaining Steam sales this year. The Steam Autumn Sale, which will coincide with Black Friday, will be held from Nov. 22 to Nov. 28, while the Steam Winter Sale will usher in the new year, as it will be held from Dec. 21 to Jan. 4, 2018. The games that will be covered by these two upcoming sales remain unknown.
