New OnePlus 5T Teaser Image Hints Edge-To-Edge Display

In the past weeks, there have been speculations suggesting that OnePlus is gearing up to launch the successor to the OnePlus 5, which is said to be called OnePlus 5T. Now, teaser images of the said device have surfaced online, which shows that upcoming flagship will boast an edge-to-edge display.

The latest teaser image, obtained by Android Authority from a trusted source, reveals its best look yet. However, it doesn't show off the entirety of the device — only the display, bezels, and frame of the smartphone.

Specifications And Features

The latest OnePlus 5T is expected to launch sometime next month. According to the renders, it will have minimal bezels around the display panel — helping it achieve its edge-to-edge look. It will still have the same 18:9 aspect ratio and will also boast a larger display than the OnePlus 5's 5.5-inch panel — making it the biggest smartphone by the OnePlus yet.

Latest reports also claim that the OnePlus 5T will boast a 6-inch display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass for extra protection. OnePlus is also rumored to shift the fingerprint scanner from the front to the back of the OnePlus 5T. The latest leaked teaser image also hints an aluminum frame with a bottom-positioned speaker for OnePlus 5T. Moreover, the smartphone is also expected to feature a bit higher battery capacity than the 3500mAh pack available on the OnePlus 5.

OnePlus could also upgrade selfie camera in OnePlus 5T by setting up the dual front camera module, which will bring software additions like a portrait mode for selfies. In the meantime, the rear side is also said to come with the same 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel dual camera configuration as the OnePlus 5.

Android Authority notes that the OnePlus 5T will be having a similar chassis to that of the OnePlus 5, which means that both the OnePlus smartphones will have identical dimensions.

OnePlus is yet to verify the development of the OnePlus 5T. However, these rumors and leaks hint that an official announcement could take place anytime from now. Additionally, the Shenzhen-based company has a history of releasing an incline of its flagship smartphone with the release of the OnePlus 3T last year.
