Monkey Waiters Serve Beer In Japan's Best Tavern

Beer. Beer is good. Do you know what would make beer better? If it was served to you by monkey waiters, that's what.

Below is proof caught on tape. This monkey works at the Kayabuki Tavern, about two hours north of Tokyo. Not only does the monkey serve beer, but it also brings travelers (and tourists) hot towels as well. He's definitely a smart animal, and he even gets his own uniform that matches that of the tavern owner. And of course, he and the rest of his monkey family also do a number of tricks, ranging from walking on stilts to jumping through hoops.

One would think this might violate all kinds of animal rights, labor and sanitation laws, but it is evidently perfectly legal, at least according to video uploader Jukin Video. According to them, the monkeys started delivering towels to people of their own free will after watching the owner of the tavern do it time after time. The monkeys can only work two hours a day, and the tavern is regularly inspected to ensure that the monkeys have a safe work environment. Sounds like a cushy gig to me, but if their tavern job doesn't work out these talented primates could always join the circus. Or at least serve drinks at an airport bar near the circus.
