Nintendo has just taken the wraps off a Poké Ball edition of the New 2DS XL, and as everyone can imagine, it's a version of the handheld clad in red and white.
This seems to be just the thing to go along with the upcoming Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon and the rerelease of the classic Game Boy titles Pokémon Gold and Silver.
New Nintendo 2DS XL Poké Ball Edition Wants You To Catch 'Em All
The difference between the Poké Ball edition of the New Nintendo 2DS XL and a standard one is more about aesthetics. It doesn't come with preinstalled games or anything like it, and of course, it's simply the portable wrapped in a neater package.
Nintendo is scheduled to roll it out on Nov. 3. By the same token, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon is set for a Nov. 17 launch, while Pokémon Gold and Silver will hit the eShop and join the 3DS's roster of virtual console games on Sept. 22.
As a side note, Pokémon Gold and Silver are already preorder, and those who do before Sept. 21 will get the Celebi. They will also get the mythical Pokémon in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.
Japan Gets A New Nintendo 2DS XL Pikachu Edition
Fans in Japan are in for a treat: an arguably better Pikachu edition of the New Nintendo 2DS XL. With just the name itself, everyone has probably already guessed that it's a yellow version of the handheld emblazoned with Pikachu.
No Longer A Japan Exclusive
As another bit of good news, the orange-and-white New Nintendo 2DS XL will be reaching the North American markets on Oct. 6. That means there will be more color options in store for fans in the region.
