Nintendo Switch stock is arriving in all GameStop stores on Aug. 15, giving gamers who have not yet been able to purchase the hybrid console another chance to do so.
The Nintendo Switch is notorious for having a supply shortage in the face of massive demand, so customers interested in the hybrid console might want to line up outside their nearby GameStop locations extra early.
Nintendo Switch Stock Refill For GameStop
GameStop announced that all of its retail stores in the United States will replenish their Nintendo Switch stock on Aug. 15, and other stores will start selling them by Aug. 16. The hybrid console will be sold in stores for its suggested retail price of $299.99, with various games and accessories for the Nintendo Switch also available. Both the gray and neon Joy-Con colors will be available, but likely in random quantities.
"This marks the first time since the initial launch of Nintendo Switch that all GameStop stores will have the system in stock at the same time," the video game retail company said in a press release. The Nintendo Switch stocks, however, will likely not last long.
Each GameStop location will receive a minimum of five Nintendo Switch units, with more units likely allocated for stores in busier locations. If you live in a small town, it would be best to make sure that you are among the first five customers in line at your local GameStop on Aug. 15.
Actually, customers in any town or city should do their best to be among the first five people in line at a GameStop store to make sure that they get a chance of finally buying the elusive Nintendo Switch.
The replenished stocks will only be offered through physical GameStop locations, so customers who are thinking about skipping the line and buying online will need to head to the store themselves or ask someone else to do it for them. The Nintendo Switch is actually also available online, but only as part of bundles with price tags starting at $400, which will not be available until Sept. 1.
Nintendo Switch Hype Not Dying Down
The hype surrounding the Nintendo Switch has not yet died down, even after about five months since it was launched.
The massive Nintendo Switch supply shortage is likely a factor in the undying interest for the hybrid console. However, Nintendo has also kept Nintendo Switch players active with the release of Splatoon 2, the upcoming launch of Super Mario Odyssey, and the announcement of future Nintendo Switch games such as Metroid Prime 4, Kirby, Yoshi, and a new Pokémon RPG.
