The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's first DLC is now out, and it's called The Master Trials.
Leading up to the release date, Nintendo has been pushing out one post after another to give fans a closer look at what's in store, from the Korok Mask and the Phantom Armor to Midna's Helmet, Tingle's Outfit, and Majora's Mask.
That said, here's a compilation of all the items and their effects that Breath of the Wild players stand to get when they purchase The Master Trials DLC.
Korok Mask
First off, Breath of the Wild director Hidemaro Fujibayashi introduced the Korok Mask, saying that the design is based on the Koroks found in The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker.
When you're wearing the Korok Mask, it'll shake and let you know whenever there's a nearby hidden Korok, which is pretty similar to the Great Fairy's Mask in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
Phantom Armor
Next up, Breath of the Wild assistant director Daiki Iwamoto took the time to explain the Phantom Armor, which are worn by the knights in The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks.
When worn, your attack power will increase.
Midna's Helmet
Third, Breath of the Wild art director Satoru Takizawa divulged the nitty-gritty details surrounding Midna's Helmet.
For those who don't know Midna, she partnered up with Link in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and interestingly enough, she was originally made for an unfinished Nintendo game.
"There was a secret project we were considering working on before The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Wii, and Midna inherited the character profile for the 'goblin/devilkin' character that would have been featured in that project," Takizawa said.
Now for the effects of Midna's Helmet in Breath of the Wild, it'll give you Guardian Resist Up when worn.
As a side note, this seems to be the perfect getup to explore Hyrule with Wolf Link.
Tingle's Outfit
Fourth, Breath of the Wild game designer Mari Shirakawa showcased Tingle's Outfit, and she also explained how her hate for the wannabe fairy turned into love.
"I remember how shocked I was — shocked right down to my bones! — when I first saw Tingle. I thought 'he's such an unsettling character ... but ... he's also so adorable ...' When I started thinking about it, I realized that sometimes hate can slowly turn into love. If you didn't care about someone at all, you wouldn't feel 'love' or 'hate' for him ..." she said.
With that cleared up, Tingle's Outfit will give you Night Speed-Up, and that means you can run around like a madman at night in Breath of the Wild.
Majora's Mask
Last but not least, Majora's Mask — yes, it's the mask that Skull Kid wore in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Producer Eiji Aonuma starred in the last post about The Master Trials before launch.
In Breath of the Wild, you won't be getting the same creepy powers as Skull Kid in Majora's Mask. Instead, minor enemies will be friendly toward you, such as Bokoblins, Moblins, and Stal, but as Aonuma notes, Kilton won't be happy about that.
Now that everything's cleared up, have you picked up The Master Trials already? If so, let us know in the comments section below.
