Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is currently being filmed in New Mexico, and a lot of folks within the vicinity are extremely excited and starstruck. Film production has also bolstered business in the area.
KRQE News 13 has managed to capture some shots of the set. The new video of the New Mexico set does not show much that would get fans overly excited, but we still can't help but discuss the whole design. Everything from what we have seen has a similar look to Themyscira, or Paradise Island, the place where Wonder Woman was born and raised.
We say this because there are some aspects of the set that appear to be towers for archers and other defenders. The only place that might still have such an ancient setting would likely be Themyscira. However, one should bear in mind that we could be wrong here, so do not take our words as truth.
Now, let's say the set is not designed for Wonder Woman's home, but a mere village? In all honesty, the design looks a bit primitive, and one would expect Paradise Island while still keeping the ancient look and feel, to be more spectacular and Greek.
What does this mean? Well, the New Mexico set could very well be a place in Africa. After all, we did report not too long ago that whatever Zack Snyder is shooting at this spot should have been done in Morocco. The team pulled out due to the threat of Ebola virus in some parts of the globe, though, we should point out that Morocco has not been affected.
At the end of the day, though, we are sticking to the idea that the New Mexico set is indeed reserved for Themyscira. A little bit of CG magic can turn almost anything into paradise. Just look at certain aspects of Game of Thrones and many big blockbuster films.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is slated for release in March 2016. The film will have Henry Cavill as Clark Kent (Superman), Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne (Batman), Gal Gadot as Diana Prince (Wonder Woman), and Jessie Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
