The new compilation package of the 'Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin,' which was announced by Namco Bandai, will be launched as a full game on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It will also be available for the Xbox 360 and PS3. The game is scheduled for a release on April 7, 2015.
While enhancements on the game are available in all of the above-mentioned platforms, owners of the PS3 and Xbox 360 are getting them in a patch. Dubbed as v1.10, the patch would include enhanced online matchmaking functionality, augmented item descriptions, adjusted parameters for enhanced game balance, and additional NPCs to achieve a more engaging game experience.
PC and new-gen owners can also expect a slew of changes such as enhanced graphics, sound, and performance. There's also a change in the game's multiplayer mode wherein the total number of players has been increased to six.
The best thing about the announcement is that the game would actually come with all the DLC trilogy which features better story, level-design and enemies. These are otherwise known as 'Crown of the Sunken King,' 'Crown of the Old Iron King,' and 'Crown of the Ivory King.'
"Developed by renowned Japanese video game development studio FROMSOFTWARE, 'Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin' is a compilation of 2014's critically acclaimed title, 'Dark Souls II' along with its three DLC chapters; 'Crown of the Sunken King,' 'Crown of the Old Iron King,' and 'Crown of the Ivory King' along with an array of all-new content," said Namco.
Specific details such as the NPC identity and the type of 'expanded story' that a player can expect are scarce at the moment.
'Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin' will be available in North America starting on the above-mentioned date. Players from Europe can start playing a few days earlier as the game is scheduled to arrive in the region on April 3. There's no information yet on when the free 1.10 update will become available. Lastly, details on pricing are yet to be revealed.
Interestingly, the game is coming just a month following the release of From Software's 'Bloodborne' which was originally scheduled in February but had to be delayed until March 2015.
