Capcom's Publisher Sale is live, and it's putting up a ton of discounts across Nintendo 3DS and Wii U games.
Meanwhile, Nintendo is swinging the ban hammer, blocking modded or hacked 3DS devices from accessing its online services.
Capcom Publisher Sale For 3DS, Wii U Games
Starting things off with some good news, Capcom launched its Publisher Sale on May 30, and it's set to last until June 5.
Here's the list of discounted 3DS games:
Mega Man Legacy Collection now $5.99 instead of $14.99
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate now $7.99 instead of $19.99
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate now $11.99 instead of $29.99
Monster Hunter Generations now $19.99 instead of $39.99
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies now $10.19 instead of $29.99
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice now $20.09 instead of $29.99
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy now $14.99 instead of $29.99
Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D now $6.39 instead of $19.99
Resident Evil Revelations now $9.99 instead of $19.99
Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition now $11.99 instead of $19.99
Thanks to the sale, handheld gamers can get into the Monster Hunter series at a lower price point than usual, but it's recommended to hold off from grabbing Monster Hunter Generations since Monster Hunter XX, which is basically an expanded version, is coming out soon for the 3DS and Switch.
It's should also be pointed out that users can complete the whole series of Capcom's favorite attorney even on a budget since they're all up for sale again, from the trilogy to Spirit of Justice.
As for the Wii U games, the list isn't as long as the selection for 3DS, but it's still worth a look.
DuckTales: Remastered now $3.74 instead of $14.99
Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara now $3.74 instead of $14.99
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate now $7.99 instead of $39.99
Resident Evil Revelations now $9.99 instead of $39.99

Hacked 3DS Devices Get Banned
Moving on to the bad news, some 3DS owners who modified their handhelds have been banned, getting "Error Code: 002-0102."
The message states that "this device's access to online services has been restricted by Nintendo."
Kotaku contacted Nintendo to get to the bottom of things.
"As a result of a number of users making unauthorised system modifications, playing unauthorised versions of one or more games and/or connecting to the game servers in violation of our terms of service, Nintendo has banned those users' systems from accessing its online network, effective immediately," Nintendo said.
Of course, the 3DS units in question haven't been bricked or anything like that, allowing the users to still use them. However, they can no longer play online or use other online apps on them.
Moral of the lesson is to skip modifying the 3DS, despite the temptation of running free pirated games and customizing their 3DS at a deeper level, to name a few reasons.
