Terminator: Genisys may have one of the dumbest names out of any film ever, but if the movie has anything going for it, it's the return of the iconic T-800 Terminator. Arnold Schwarzenegger became a superstar overnight playing the robotic killer, and fans have been begging for his return since the third film was released 11 years ago. While it's true that a digital version of Arnold appeared in Terminator: Salvation, it wasn't anything more than a cameo. But in Genisys, the Terminator one again takes center stage.
That being said, it's been over a decade since Arnold appeared as the mechanical killer in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, which raises the question: what exactly will the T-800 look like in Genisys? Well, thanks to Twitter, we finally have an answer to that question:
True, it's not much to go on, but it's still great to see Arnold getting suited up to play the Terminator one more time. Plus, it'll be interesting to see just what an aging Terminator can do. Arnold explained the character's 'aging' in an interview with MTV, but seeing as how the actor is now in his late 60s, one has to wonder just how much CGI will be used in the movie versus practical effects.
Terminator: Genisys hasn't had the easiest time getting made, either: the film was originally intended to be a part of the new story that started in Terminator: Salvation, but that film's sub-par reception led to a long and troubled production for Genisys. Thankfully, production is well underway - hopefully, the rest of the ride will be a bit smoother.
Terminator: Genisys is scheduled to hit theaters on July 1, 2015.
