As part of Sony's coverage for E3 2017, it will be bringing back the PlayStation E3 Experience to give more gamers a chance to watch the company's press conference at the annual video game event.
The PlayStation E3 Experience will support Sony's planned PlayStation Live from E3 2017 live stream, which will offer over 15 hours of streaming content.
Sony Brings Back PlayStation E3 Experience
Sony, through an official PlayStation blog post, announced the return of the PlayStation E3 Experience on June 12 this year.
The 2017 edition is the third time that Sony will broadcast its E3 press conference to theaters. For this year, 85 theaters across the United States, Canada, and Latin America are participating in the event.
While this year's E3 2017 is officially open to the public, not all PlayStation fans are willing to travel to Los Angeles to attend the annual event. The PlayStation E3 Experience will cater to these gamers, as they can be among the first people to learn about Sony's planned announcement at the annual event at the comfort of their local movie theater.
The complete list of theaters participating in the PlayStation E3 Experience this year can be seen in the PlayStation blog post. The show will start at 6 p.m. PT on June 12 and will last about two hours.
Here's How To Watch The PlayStation E3 Experience
Gamers who are interested in the PlayStation E3 Experience and find that their local theater is participating should secure a ticket to the show. The good news is that the tickets are absolutely free, and they will be available through the dedicated website of the PlayStation E3 Experience starting May 30, 10 a.m. PT.
To register for a ticket, fans will first need to have their own Gofobo account, which is also free. Gamers who are able to acquire one of the tickets will receive them in the email address used to create the Gofobo account.
However, securing a ticket does not guarantee a seat in the PlayStation E3 Experience. Gamers will need to arrive early on June 12, though, as they will be seated on a first-come-first-serve basis until theaters are full.
Attendees should be 17 years old or older and will be asked to present a valid ID to confirm their age before they are allowed entry into the theater.
Watching a live stream in a theater is certainly more difficult than watching the same live stream from home, but Sony will make the attendance of gamers worthwhile. Gamers who watch the PlayStation E3 Experience will receive an exclusive poster and the 76th card in the PlayStation Collectable Card series. Sony will also give attendees a digital gift basket that contains goodies that can be downloaded from the PlayStation Store.
Sony At E3 2017
Gamers are looking forward to E3 2017 to see if Sony can keep the PlayStation 4 on top, particularly with its better lineup of exclusive titles.
PlayStation fans and Sony itself will likely be looking at Microsoft's E3 presentation as well, as the company is set to unveil the Xbox Project Scorpio.
