Moto G5 Plus Leaks Again In Midnight Blue, Reportedly Headed To Latin America

The upcoming Moto G5 Plus leaked again in the sleek Midnight Blue color option, offering a better look at its new avatar.

Motorola is also rumored to unveil new Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus smartphones soon, but this is just a regular Moto G5 Plus with a new paint job. The Moto G5S Plus is expected to sport a dual rear camera setup, and the Midnight Blue Moto G5 Plus shown in these images has a single rear camera and an identical design to the existing model introduced earlier this year.

The latest renders surfaced on Twitter courtesy of trusted tipster Roland Quandt and offer a good look at the smartphone, front and back. According to the tipster, the new color option will soon become available in Latin America. No additional details are available at this point regarding when the new Moto G5 Plus version will make its official debut or how much it will cost.

Moto G5 Plus Midnight Blue Design

Aside from the Midnight Blue paint job, the moto G5 Plus seems to have an identical design to the existing smartphone. The Midnight Blue Moto G5 Plus shown in the latest leaked renders has the same rear camera as the original model, as well as the same front-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button. The volume rocker and power button are on the right side of the device.

Moto G5 Plus Specs

Motorola's parent company, Lenovo, unveiled the Moto G5 Plus back at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 earlier this year. The handset fits into the midrange segment of the smartphone market, aiming to deliver a decent performance without breaking the bank.

As a reminder, the Moto G5 Plus features a 5.2-inch full HD display (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top, a midrange Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, Adreno 506 graphics, and up to 4 GB of RAM.

Other specs include 32 GB and 64 GB storage options, but the Midnight Blue version for Latin America will reportedly come with 32 GB of expandable storage and just 2 GB of RAM. The smartphone will further support dual SIM for Latin America.

The Moto G5 Plus also sports a 12-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front shooter, a 3,000 mAh battery with TurboPower fast charging, and Android 7.0 Nougat powering the software side of things.

All in all, the Moto G5 Plus won't impress with sheer horsepower, but it should nonetheless be able to offer a solid performance for its category. The new color option looks stylish and suits the design well.

With no official information available yet, however, it all remains in the rumor state at this point. The tipster says the Midnight Blue Moto G5 Plus will hit Latin America soon enough, and it might be exclusive to that region. If the launch is indeed imminent, Motorola should break the news soon. Motorola is also expected to announce new flagships soon, and leaks about the Moto Z2 Force and Moto Z2 Play paint an exciting picture.

As always with leaks and speculation, it's highly recommended to take things with a grain of salt until the formal announcement.
