Best Buy Reduces 9.7-Inch iPad Pro Price, Is The Retailer Preparing For 10.5-Inch Model's Arrival?

Rumors are rife that Apple may launch a 10.5-inch iPad Pro model at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference even in June. Analysts suggest that the company will unveil not only the 10.5-inch iPad Pro, but also a touchscreen Siri speaker at the WWDC 2017.

Fueling speculations of a new iPad Pro model's arrival is the fact that Best Buy has discounted the 9.7-inch variant of the Apple tablet. One can purchase the 9.7-inch iPad Pro with 32 GB onboard storage for $474.99 from Best Buy.

Best Buy has shaved off $125 from the tablet's $599.99 list price and is also offering free shipping on the device. The current offer is roughly $25 less than the lowest price Best Buy has offered for the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.

Best Buy Clearing Inventory Before 10.5-Inch iPad Pro Model's Arrival?

Apple fans are seeing this price cut as a move from the retailer to clear inventory before the 10.5-inch iPad Pro's alleged debut at the WWDC on June 5.

However, only Best Buy has currently discounted the iPad Pro. Apple's online store continues to list the 9.7-inch iPad Pro with 32 GB internal storage for $599. Other retailers are also yet to discount the Apple tablet.

Interestingly, earlier in May, Best Buy offered discounts on several Apple products, including the 9.7-inch iPad Pro. The deal entitled consumers to a $100 discount.

10.5-inch iPad Pro: What's The Story So Far?

The 10.5-inch iPad Pro is hailed as the successor of the 9.7-inch model and is rumored to sport almost identical features. The distinguishing feature between the two iPad Pro models is allegedly the bigger screen and minimum side bezels. Users can also expect a slightly revamped iPad Pro with a similar chassis, as Apple may have redesigned the device to boost its revenue.

The tablet is also anticipated to house an A10X processor, which will enhance the device's performance. While iFans would have hoped for an OLED screen for the iPad Pro, it is likely that they will have to contend with an LCD one.

According to latest rumors and predictions, the Cupertino-based company will boost its production line for iPad models and increase production number from 500,000 current units to 600,000 units by July. The pricing for the 10.5-inch iPad Pro is not known, but it is likely that the tablet will also be made available in multiple hues.

Best Buy iPad Pro Deal

To take advantage of the Best Buy deal on the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, simply head to the retailer's online store and order the tablet. Consumers can choose from four colors options - Silver, Rose Gold, Gold, and Space Gray. It is likely that the deal is a limited period one. One would do well to remember that the discount is valid only on the 32 GB variant of the tablet and not the 128 GB or 256 GB options. The retailer is currently not offering any discount on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro either.
