HTC 11 Top Specs Leak Before May 16 Unveiling: Snapdragon 835, Up To 6 GB RAM, And More

What looks like part of the HTC 11 retail box has leaked online, revealing powerful specifications for the upcoming flagship smartphone.

The leak shows the most relevant part of the retail box - the one that lists the device's specifications. Should this turn out to be accurate, the HTC 11 will be a top-notch flagship with the latest Snapdragon processor, up to 6 GB of RAM, and number of other exciting specs.

HTC has fallen far behind rivals in recent years and it's been trying to make a comeback for a good while now, without much success. The HTC 10 sported some solid specifications, but it still failed to rise to One M8 glory.

The company is now expected to unveil its 2017 flagship smartphone later this month, on May 16, and the latest leak boosts the hype ahead of the big reveal. Here's what to expect from the HTC 11 if this leak turns out to be accurate.

HTC 11 Specs Leaked

If this leaked retail box is the real deal, it reveals most core specs that will allegedly grace HTC's next flagship smartphone. Based on the leak, the HTC 11 will pack the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor under the hood, which is the same processor powering the new Samsung Galaxy S8 series.

Other purported specs of the HTC 11 include a 5.5-inch QHD display with a 2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution and Gorilla Glass 5 protection, Adreno 540 graphics, 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM, 64 GB of 128 GB of native storage capacity, and microSD support for up to 2 TB of additional storage.

The HTC 11 will further sport a 12-megapixel Ultra Pixel 3 rear camera with an f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization, a 16-megapixel selfie cam with an f/2.0 aperture, and Selfie Panorama.

Other specs and features include a fingerprint scanner, IP 57 certification for water resistance at up to 3.2 feet of water for up to 30 minutes, a 3,000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0, HTC BoomSound, HTC Usonic Active Noise Cancellation, 3D Audio Recording, dual SIM support (nano SIM), Edge Sense, and NFC. Edge Sense allows users to squeeze the handset to summon apps, which they can then open by tapping on the smartphone's touch-sensitive edges.

HTC 11 Coming May 16

HTC previously teased the feature on Twitter, touting "Squeeze for the brilliant U." That said, the next HTC flagship set to debut on May 16 may launch either as the HTC 11, or as the HTC U.

The specifications revealed with the leaked retail box hint at an exciting smartphone with powerful specs and features all around, ready to take on other 2017 flagships such as the LG G6, Samsung Galaxy S8, the upcoming Google Pixel 2, and more.

As always with leaks, however, it's best to take everything with a grain of salt until it's official. With just two weeks until the big unveiling, the HTC 11 or HTC U is just around the corner and we'll soon get the official scoop straight from the source.

If this leak turns out to accurate, however, would you be interested in the HTC 11? Let us know in the comments section below.
