The flagship Samsung device, which is poised for a March 29 launch at New York City, is rumored to hit the shelves in April.
The latest leaks share information about the accessories that are expected to come with the Samsung Galaxy S8. Rumors hint at a DeX station for the handset, which will allow users to get a desktop experience via the smartphone. The Galaxy S8 is also expected to get a powerbank.
The DeX Station
With the help of the DeX Station, users of the Galaxy S8 as well as Galaxy S8+, will be able to connect their smartphone to an external monitor.
Users are expected to use a mouse as well as keyboard to connect with desktop apps. The image of the accessory was shared on Twitter by tipster Roland Quandt.
The leaked image seems authentic and offers a glimpse into the impending DeX station for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones.
The DeX Station is expected to be priced at $159. It is speculated to come loaded with two USB Type-A ports and one Ethernet port, supporting a speed of 100 Mbps. Users may also receive a USB Type-C port with the dock station and also an HDMI port, which may allow a 4K video streaming experience. The DeX Station may also include a cooling fan.
Power Bank
The EB-PG950 Power Bank is speculated to be available in blue and gray, which will allow users to charge their Galaxy S8 smartphones quickly. The EB-PG950 Power Bank is expected to come loaded with a 5,100 mAh battery, which will offer a 15W charge speed limit. The power bank may include two USB ports along with power on/off options, which will be located at the bottom of the accessory.
The company may also include a strap with the power bank to make it easy for users to carry it around. Samsung is expected to announce the power bank on March 29 along with the Galaxy S8. According to rumors, the power bank is priced at $75. The information was revealed by Quandt on his Twitter account, where he shared the image of the EB-PG950 Power Bank.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Release
The flagship Galaxy S8 is expected to be available for preorder in South Korea from April 7 to April 17, as revealed by few company executives.
According to some analysts, the Galaxy S8 may face lower sales when compared to the upcoming iPhone 8. Moreover, the Galaxy S8 is also expected to account for lower sales than its predecessor Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge.
The flagship device is expected to be announced at the "Unpacked" event on March 29.
