Apple is preparing for a blowout sale of its Apple Watch device in 2015 as the company is aiming to produce around 30 to 40 million units for the year. At the moment, this should be seen as just a rumor.
In a recently leaked transcript from Apple's retail chief Angela Ahrendts to an employee, she explicitly stated that Apple will launch its smart watch in spring, or around February or March 2015.
"You guys were hired because you're the best people in the world," Ahrendts told the employees in the message. "And you know how to service customers. But we're sprinting a marathon right now, and it's not going to stop. Right? We're going into the holidays, we'll go into Chinese New Year, and then we've got a new watch launch coming in the spring:"
DigiTimes reports chipmakers in Taiwan are gearing up quickly, which could suggest that the Apple Watch could launch earlier than expected. Launching early would be a good thing for the smart watch market, as we believe it will not take off considerably until Apple steps in.
Anything could change at this point in the game, and it is also possible that whatever Ahrendts had to say might be a way of throwing folks off guard. However, we doubt Apple would want to wait very long to release its smart watch since the company already showed off the device to the public.
At the end of the day, if manufacturers are truly planning to create 30 to 40 million Apple Watches for the year 2015, then the Cupertino giant must be preparing to sell a ton. The likes of Google, Samsung, and Microsoft should be worried, because Apple is making a big push for the market, and it is not looking back.
