iPhone 5s shows Galaxy S4 who's king in the U.S.

The iPhone 5s has turned out to be the best-selling smartphone at the top-four U.S. carriers - AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile - for September, October and November this year, beating arch rival Samsung's Galaxy S4.

Apple launched and released its latest iPhone 5s, along with the budget iPhone 5c, in September this year and since then there's been no looking back for the iPhone 5s. For three months in a row, the iPhone 5s has beaten Galaxy S4's sales on all top four U.S. carriers.

An Apple Insider report cites data revealed by T. Michael Walkley, an analyst with Canaccord Genuity, and notes that Apple remained the top smartphone vendor for September, October and November this year with Samsung taking the second spot.

All previous iterations of the iPhone have been received well by smartphone enthusiasts and tech gurus alike. Usually, Apple launches only one model of the iPhone, but this year, the company launched two handsets for the first time. Moreover, all previous versions of the iPhones were available only in two colors. However, to attract more customers, the newest iPhone 5s has been made available in three colors and the iPhone 5c in an array of five vibrant colors.

The Apple Insider report suggests that before the release of iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, smartphone vendors such as Apple, Samsung, HTC, Nokia, Sony and Motorola all had their handsets in the top-three sales list of at least one of the country's big four carriers. However, the release of the latest iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c pushed all other vendors, apart from Samsung, out of the picture.

iPhones are not just popular in the U.S. but in other countries as well. Apple has already launched the latest iPhones in many other countries and in Japan they have emerged as the most popular smartphones. Apple has also reportedly joined hands with China's biggest wireless carrier China Mobile to sell iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c.
