The leaks pertaining to the impending smartphones, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have surfaced online yet again. However, interestingly this time it is a leak through a five second video, which allegedly offers the fan a peek into the look and specs of the Samsung Galaxy S8.
Prior to the expected launch of both the smartphones, the devices have been tested on Geekbench to provide an idea of their speed and performance specifications.
What Do The Listing Reveals?
The benchmark listing shows various details pertaining to both the smartphones, the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+, bearing the model number SM-G950U and SM-G955U respectively. The model numbers were leaked in mid-January.
The listing shows that both the smartphones have interestingly scored very high in terms of speed and other capabilities. Moreover, the Galaxy S8 was tested with Android 7.0 operating system. However, it will probably change to Android 7.1 OS when the unit will be launched next month.
Both the devices show similar specs to a large extent. However, the only difference between them may likely be in their sizes. The smaller sibling, Galaxy S8 features a 5.8-inch screen and a smaller battery of 3000mAh. The Galaxy S8+ on the other hand boasts a larger display of size 6.2-inch and comes with a higher battery capacity of 3500mAh.
Galaxy S8: Listing
The listing suggests that the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with an octa-core GPU, clocking a speed of 1.9 GHz. It is expected to offer 4 GB of RAM.
The results look promising as the Galaxy S8 scores 1916 in the single-core and 6011 in the multi score tests which were performed using the benchmarking site.
Galaxy S8+: Listing
The listing regarding the larger sibling suggests it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor as well and comes coupled with an octa-core GPU, running at a clock speed of 1.9 GHz. It also offers 4 GB of RAM.
The score secured by the device in the single-core test was 1929 and in the multi-core tests it scored 6084.
Galaxy S8: What Do The Leaked Video Shows?
The leaked video shows the Galaxy S8 boasting a sleek and modern design. In correspondence to earlier leaks disseminated by reliable tipsters, the back side of the handset shows a fingerprint scanner to the right of the rear camera.
Moreover, it also shows that the smartphone has ditched the home button. The video also goes on to show a dual curved edge screen which is what fans had been expecting.
However, the veracity of the content of the video remains circumspect.
Launch
Samsung has already started mass production of both the smartphones. More news and final specs will be revealed by the company in the upcoming "Unpacked" event slated to take place on March 29 where the devices will be launched.
