Buy Games From The Japanese eShop To Bulk-Up Your Nintendo Switch Library: Here’s How

Tech Times reported on Jan. 15 that the new Nintendo Switch Hybrid game console is not region locked so importers and gamers would be able to enjoy games offered in any region anytime when it is released.

It has only been at least 24 hours since Nintendo Switch was officially released with The Legend of Zelda: Breathe of the Wild and 1-2 Switch but some gamers are already looking forward to the next set of games that will be made available for the console.

If, like many gamers, you're already impatient for the next set of games to be released, then Tech Times has good news for you because, instead of waiting you can already access games from the eShop of any region right now. Since the Nintendo Switch is not region locked, nothing is stopping you from purchasing new games — other than your own finances and language barriers, that is.

Read on below to find out how to browse the game catalog of other Nintendo Switch eShop regions, then read even further down for some recommended game titles from the Japanese eShop.

How To Access Other Regions's eShops

Accessing and buying games from other regions's eShops is easy as 1-2-3. Take a look at the steps below.

Step 1: Select the region you want to browse and create a new account.
Step 2: Browse the eShop for available games.
Step 3: Purchase the game you want but remember that there could be a minimal transaction fee if you will be using a foreign credit card. You can also use online credit, if available.

Now you have a new game that is ready to play once the download is finished.

Recommended Games From The Japanese eShop

While language may be a barrier, gamers would be happy to know that there are already some games that have multiple language support. Here are four recommended games from the Japanese eShop with full English language support.

Disgaea 5 Complete
Disgaea 5 Complete is a compilation of all the Disgaea RPG games and its DLCs for the Nintendo Switch. In this game, players take control of Killia, a young demon who seeks to end the reign of the terrible overlord Void Dark in Netherworld. Disgaea 5 will be available for retail in the United States by May 23 but why wait when it's already available for purchase in another eShop? Watch the trailer below if you've forgotten it exists.

Blaster Master Zero
Blaster Master Zero is an 8-bit game that has its roots in the NES classic console. It is a 2D side-scroller game based on the original 1988 Blaster Master, but with additional areas, bosses, weapons, and scenario, among other things. Watch the trailer below.

It will actually be available in U.S. shops by March 9 but it is already available for download in the European and Japanese eShops so, as we said before, why wait?

Arcade Archives
Think Metal Slug, Contra, Bubble Bobble, MX5000, and all those classic arcade titles. It's a true blast from the past and it is available for the Nintendo Switch. The U.S. eShop has yet to give details on its release but the Japanese eShop already has it in its roster so, if you're a retrogamer, you may want to check it out (literally).

Here is a complete list of titles included in the Arcade Archives game.

Vroom in the Night Sky
It's a game that allows players to fly magical bikes in the night sky. You probably thought of Sirius Black and Rubeus Hagrid from the Harry Potter septology but it's actually more like a magical girl flying her motorbike while her broom is strapped to her back. Actually, just watch the trailer below.
