The sequel to Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor was recently leaked by Target through an international listing, revealing several details for the upcoming game before it was announced.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment must have decided that there was no sense in delaying the official announcement of Middle-earth: Shadow of War, with the company now confirming the title and its release date.
'Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War' Confirmed
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has now confirmed Middle-earth: Shadow of War, through the release of an announcement trailer that provides players a glimpse of what will happen in the Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor sequel.
"The world of men is ending," the announcement trailer for Middle-earth: Shadow of War begins, before it reveals Talion and Celebrimbor, the protagonists of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, forging a Ring of Power while Sauron leads his army into battle. Talion and Celebrimbor will breach enemy lines to try to turn Mordor against the Dark Lord.
The Nemesis System Returns In 'Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War'
The Nemesis system is one of the most popular aspects of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Through the award-winning system, orc leaders in the first game remembered their encounters with Talion, with those who are able to kill the player will receive rank promotions and increase in strength. The system resulted in unique stories in every play-through, as enemies also grow along with players.
In Middle-earth: Shadow of War, the Nemesis system will not only be applied to enemies, but rather to the whole world. As such, all other characters and even environments will be shaped by the decisions of players, creating a unique world that would be different for each player.
The updated Nemesis system in the upcoming game will also feature a new kind of reactive non-playable characters called Followers, which are said to be bringing new aspects to the game's story. There will also be so-called Nemesis Fortresses, which will allow players to use various strategies in conquering strongholds and then create their personal orc armies.
'Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War' Release Date And Editions
