Samsung's upcoming smartphone the Galaxy J7, which is the successor of the Galaxy J7 (2016), is expected to be unveiled at a press event slated at the MWC this month.
Rumors and leaks pertaining to the smartphone have been rampant for a long time. Now, a new leak suggests that the Galaxy J7 (2017) will be up on U.S.-based carrier Verizon Wireless under the name Galaxy J7 V.
Previous leaks have also hinted that the smartphone may be making its way to Verizon Wireless.
Samsung Galaxy J7-bearing the model number SM-727- is likely to head to Verizon as Galaxy J7 V. The tweet from Evan Blass suggests the same and he is known to be reliable.
According to the tweet, the letter "V" following the name of the smartphone in the Verizon variant indicates the carrier's name. Reports also suggest that the Galaxy J7 may be sold as the Galaxy Sky Pro in the U.S. market, and could be available from Tracfone.
Samsung Galaxy J7: Verizon Variant Specs
Many alleged images of the impending smartphone have leaked online, offering a glimpse into the handset.
The smartphone's Verizon variant is likely to sport a 5.5-inch display, featuring a resolution of 1080 X 1920 pixels. Under the hood, the handset may be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, clocked at 2 GHz and deploy Adreno 506 GPU.
The leaks have also hinted that the smartphone may offer either 2 GB or 3 GB of RAM. It could also be equipped with an on-board storage of 16 GB. The handset is likely to feature a 13MP primary camera and a 5MP secondary one.
Per the reports, the smartphone may come pre-loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and may offer LTE and HSPA connectivity.
Samsung J7 V Release
The tweet from Blass also indicates that the smartphone will make its way to other stateside carriers, including AT&T and U.S. Cellular.
The device with the model number, SM-727A was previously spotted on GFXBench. This is probably the AT&T variant of the handset.
The latest tweet shows the homescreen of the device, which indicates that Verizon will probably start selling the Galaxy J7 V by April 10 in the U.S.
