The Samsung Galaxy S8 may be missing out on a MWC debut but that has not stopped the leaks and rumors pertaining to the Galaxy S7's successor from emerging online.
Samsung's 2017 flagship smartphone is in the news once again thanks to a third-party accessory maker outing the supposed cover for the device.
Case maker Urban Armor Gear (UAG) has posted the cover for the Galaxy S8 on its official website. That Samsung is yet to announce the Galaxy S8 officially is obviously not a deterrent for the accessory maker.
The UAG listing shows off a gamut of cases housing the impending Samsung smartphone, which is eagerly awaited as it will house the latest Snapdragon 835 CPU.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Cases Offered By UAG
UAG has come up with two categories of cases, namely Plasma and Pathfinder. UAG has listed the Plasma Case for the Galaxy S8 in multiple hues such as citron, cobalt, ash, and ice. This case has been priced at $44.95 and currently shows as available for preorder.
The second cover listed for the Galaxy S8 is the Pathfinder Case, which is up for preorder as well but in three colors - rust, as well as the classic black and white. This case from UAG is also available for $44.95.
Interestingly, the accessory maker reveals that both the cases if preordered will be dispatched in 90 days.
What Do UAG's Cases Reveal?
The Galaxy S8 cases posted for preorder by the accessory maker offer a peek into some of the design elements of the impending Samsung smartphone.
The high resolution images reveal that the Galaxy S8 will have a front-facing snapper, as well as possibly an iris scanner. One can also espy four more sensors above the handset's display, the Samsung logo can also be espied below the screen.
Interestingly, the physical home button and the navigation keys seem to be absent from the device, as suggested by older render leaks.
The images, however, show off the volume and power buttons. In addition to these there is an extra button on the handset's side. It is presumed that this button may be for the rumored Bixby AI from the company.
Since there is no physical home button, the fingerprint scanner's position has been shifted and it is now located next to the camera sensor. The images also affirm previous assertions that the Galaxy S8 will be nearly bezel-less. The bezels on the top and bottom of the Galaxy S8 seem minimal. No bezels can be spotted on its sides.
If rumors are to be believed, the smartphone will sport a curved display rather than a flat one, but this information cannot be gleaned from the UAG listing.
Whether UAG is showing off the actual product is not known and, therefore, the leak should be taken with a pinch of salt. Considering, the listing says that the case would be delivered after 90 days if preordered now, then based on this, the Galaxy S8 will hit the shelves in end May or early June.
