Metal Gear fans will be glad to know that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes has been scheduled for release on March 18, 2014. The new game, which is a prequel to Metal Gear Sold V: The Phantom Pain, according to the game's developer Konami, will be released for all major platforms on the same day.
The game's release was publicized along with a new trailer showcasing the game's Jaimais Vu mission. However, the mission can only be played by gamers with Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles. Players will be able to reprise the role of Raiden as he attempts to defeat bioroid snatchers. Playstation 3 (PS3) and Playstation 4 (PS4) owners need not despair since they can also enjoy a PS exclusive mission called Déjà vu. In this Playstation exclusive, players will be able to take on the role of the eponymous Solid Snake as he takes on his enemies.
Metal Gear fans that still use the PS3 and the Xbox 360 will soon be able to buy their copies in stores. On the other hand, next-gen console owners who use the PS4 and the Xbox One will be able to download the games online for $30. However, PS3 and Xbox 360 owners can also download the game for $20.
As a prequel, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be shorter version compared to The Phantom Pain but it still promises a lot of fun and action for gamers. Both games are set in expansive open worlds but The Phantom Pain will be a lot more massive compared to the prequel in terms of the storyline as well as the size of the in-game world. However, Ground Zeroes will serve simply as an appetizer to get gamers worked up for the main course. It will take some time before The Phantom Pain will be released, as The Phantom Pain will "require much more time" due to it's "enormous volume," according to the game creator Hideo Kojima.
