As the world awaits the arrival of the Nintendo Switch, many fans of the company's consoles still remember the Nintendo Wii as one of the greatest consoles of the modern generation, and perhaps even of all time.
Aaron Norton, who goes by the username of NintendoTwizer on the NintendoAge forum, is one of the gamers who love the Nintendo Wii, proof of which is the amazing complete collection that he has for the console.
Complete Wii Collection Unveiled
In a post on NintendoAge, Norton unveiled his complete Nintendo Wii collection, which he said should serve as a mega post for Wii collecting.
Norton noted that there are 1,262 games for the Nintendo Wii released in North America, and he has a copy of each one of them in his collection. However, this does not include variants of the same title, demo CDs, two-packs that bundled two games in a special outer sleeve, and the Netflix disc for the console.
Norton also revealed what he thinks are the top 40 rare titles for the Nintendo Wii, which include 101-in-1 Sports Party Megamix, Let's Dance, Cooking Mama 2-Pack, and Guilty Gear Accent Core XX Plus. If you have these games for your Nintendo Wii, you should think about holding on to them.
In addition to the games for the Nintendo Wii, Norton also acquired one each of the 12 unique colors that Nintendo has released for the Wiimote, the console's groundbreaking motion controller. Norton also has the four colors of the Nintendo Wii, namely white, blue, red and black.
The complete collection takes up shelves that are 8 feet wide and 9 feet tall, Norton said in an interview. However, he said that he was not able to keep track of just how much he has spent on the project.
"The Wii is a fascinating system. It sold over 100 million units. It was an insane success for Nintendo," Norton said of the console. This is especially true when compared to the failure that is the Nintendo Wii U, which is something that the Nintendo Switch is looking to avoid as it launches on March 3.
Would You Like To Start Your Own Wii Collection?
Norton goes on to say that it is currently a good time for gamers who are looking to start up their own Wii collection, as with the console at its low point, this is probably the cheapest time for gamers to start picking up games and accessories.
According to Norton, when he completed his Nintendo 64 collection, he was only paying about $4.00 per game that he was picking up, with $45 as the highest amount that he spent on a Nintendo 64 title. This was because he completed his collection in 2012, when the console was at its low point but before becoming a classic console that gamers will pick up for nostalgia. The Nintendo Wii is at this point right now, Norton claims, so gamers who would like to have their own Nintendo Wii collection should start now before it becomes a chase item once again.
