Undoubtedly, the 2017 LG W7 Signature Series OLED TV was one of the stars of CES 2017. It has consistently wowed onlookers at the event who must have ended up going home disappointed because LG did not provide any pricing information.
Here's the good news: the South Korean company has already announced that the TV is now available for preorder at B&H and, naturally, we also now have its price tag.
The information was first obtained by TechRadar, which reported that the base model of the W7 series will set you back a staggering $8,000. This is the variant with the smaller 65-inch screen.
If you still want to hear about the 77-inch OLED TV, then brace yourself because it will only ship for $20,000.
The Price Of Technology
If you have money to spare, then pricing should not be an issue. You can then reserve one or two and wait around for a bit because LG has not provided any shipping details yet. The OLED TV is currently listed at B&H as coming soon.
You will have to console yourself with the fact that you will be one of the first to own this piece of home entertainment technology once it finally starts rolling out.
If the amount is a bit hefty for you, don't fret because you can still rationalize the purchase with the quality of technology you will get in exchange.
Specs
Most importantly, the W7 Signature Series defines what cutting-edge television technology is at this point in time. The 4K TV is wallpaper-thin that you can stick it on a wall and it would adhere to it nearly flushed. It is thinner than most picture frames and is only ever slightly thicker than three stacked credit cards.
Secondly, there is also the fact that the Signature Series has one of the most stunning OLED display technologies. Its closest rival, Sony OLED Bravia 4K HDR TV, is said to have sourced its own OLED technology from LG itself.
"LG OLED pixels create their own light, and can switch off to achieve truly perfect black levels with zero light bleed, providing the foundation for displaying the lush, vibrant color that only LG OLED TV can deliver," LG stated.
Alternative OLED TVs
If you simply cannot bring yourself to sacrifice an arm and a leg to buy either one of the W7 Signature Series, you might want to look at the OLED TV alternatives such as the LG C7 series. Its 55-inch base model costs $2,500 while the 65-inch variant has a $4,000 asking price.
