What a puurfect treat. The first Hello Kitty Café is coming to SoCal.
Fans of the iconic, big-headed cartoon character (who is actually a British girl, not a cat), can soon dine in a complete Hello Kitty themed dessert spot.
While Honolulu, Hawaii is technically home to the first U.S, Sanrio Café, the Southern California location will be the first fully themed Hello Kitty eatery in the continental U.S.
According to LAist, the Sanrio-licensed Hello Kitty Café will open in Orange County, California. The café will feature edibles in honor of the beloved cartoon kitty and will include donuts, macrons and cake pops. Hello Kitty Café's managing partner Allan Tea says that the main focus of the eatery will be the artisan desserts and coffee drinks, but the café will also serve salads, sandwiches and sliders.
Californians got a taste of what is to come when a Hello Kitty mobile food truck served the themed treats during last weekend's Hello Kitty Con in Los Angeles. The truck will be available for private parties anywhere in SoCal areas.
A Hello Kitty restaurant also opened in Taipei and a café opened in Seoul.
Hello Kitty recently celebrated her 40th anniversary, and according to the photos from the limited time café in Tokyo, the adorable treats will be puurfectly delicious.
