CES 2017: Samsung's New H7 Wireless Speaker Looks Good And Sounds Great

Audiophiles will soon be able to make the most of a new 32-bit wireless speaker from Samsung, which is poised to redefine the audio world.

At the CES 2017, the South Korean OEM took the wraps off its H7 Wireless Speaker, which it claims "enables 32bits of rich, detailed sound from any source that provides 8 to 24bit sound."

Basically, the H7 Wireless Speaker is equipped with the company's proprietary Ultra High Quality (UHQ) 32-bit audio technology, which upscales the 8- and 24-bit audio to encompass a wider frequency range. The Samsung speaker deploys UHQ in tandem with a bass response down to 35Hz that aids in broadening the sound range.

This technology results in the audio getting enhanced to a maximum of 32 bits and the music sounding as great as the original recording of the song itself, especially when compared to current HD audio technology.

"Delivering clear, crisp, immersive sound is very important to Samsung, and we always strive to create new products that further complement the user experience," revealed Jurak Choi, Samsung Electronics' SVP earlier in December 2016 when the company announced its impending lineup of user-driven audio/visual products.

At the time, as Tech Times reported, Choi also shared that the company was channeling its focus on audiophiles who look for a simple and single solution that offers a fabulous audio experience in the comfort of their home.

Features

The H7 Wireless Speaker is pretty sleek and sports two circular grilles on the front. Two discs are located on the top of the speaker, one for navigating the menu options and other for adjusting volume. The Samsung speaker has wheel controls, which not only aid in adjusting the volume but help one select from playlists. The speaker also has a small display.

Samsung has also developed its own audio algorithms to enhance clarity of notes. The hardware that the wireless speaker from Samsung houses inside is not known.

Audiophiles may be a tad disappointed that the H7 Wireless Speaker does not offer any smart assistant support such as Samsung's rumored AI assistant Bixby. However, this does not come as a surprise, as from the outset, Samsung maintained that the wireless speaker would not be kitted with any smart technology.

Release

Samsung has not spilled the beans on the pricing of the H7 Wireless Speaker. However, it has hinted that consumers will be "pleasantly surprised" by the price tag, suggesting that the speaker will be affordable.

The Samsung H7 Wireless Speaker will release this summer, but the company has not elaborated on the date.
