We probably all owe T-Pain an apology right about now. Turns out the artist wasn't using auto-tune to cover up a lack of vocal talent.
Surprising the world during a live performance for NPR's Tiny Desk Concert series, R&B and hip-hop artist T-Pain sang three of his popular songs for the first time without auto-tune
Singing live next to a keyboardist, T-Pain ditched his dreads, grills and auto-tune, showing fans and haters that he can actually sing really well. Hitting some high notes, T-Pain sang his hits "Buy U A Drank (Shawty Snappin')," "Up Down (Do This All Day)" and "Drankin' Patna."
"I know everybody is wondering where the Auto-Tune is gonna come from. It's OK, I got it in my pocket ... It's surgically inserted," he joked.
While he kept referring to the experience as being "weird as hell," T-Pain proved he has the pipes to make him a credible artist in the music biz.
