Any iPad running iOS 10 is packed with a ton of features and functions, and some users may not even be aware of them.
That said, here are some tips and tricks to get the most out of the Apple tablet, ranging from finding photos quickly to improving viewing at night to reduce eye strain.
Finding Photos Efficiently
Photos is capable of recognizing the places and objects in pictures, allowing you to search for specific images using a keyword.
For instance, you can type in "beach" or "golden retriever," and the app will bring up any photos related to them.
To really take advantage of it, don't forget to turn on iCloud Photo Library so that all your pictures across your iOS and Mac devices are accessible in one place. Just head to Settings > Photos & Camera to activate it.
Speaking of photos, you can just swipe to the left on the iPad lock screen to quickly fire up the camera.
Opening Pages In Split View
As a productivity machine, the iPad can open two pages simultaneously in Split View mode.
To do this, just long tap on a link and select "Open in Split View," and if you want to switch the position of the tabs, all you have to do is swipe them.
Removing Ads
At a tap of a button, you can remove ads on Safari, leaving behind only the text and images of an article. Just look for the button with four horizontal lines on the left side of the search field to turn on this nifty feature.
Magnifying Small Text
Text too small to read? The iPad has got you covered.
Just activate the Magnifier feature via Settings > General > Accessibility. After that, you can now press the Home button three times to zoom in on the fine print.
Taking Screenshots
Most users probably know this by now, but in case you don't, just press the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons at the same time to take a screenshot.
Scheduling Night Shift
Reading on the iPad in the dark with the brightness level at moderate or high is a big no-no, but you can set the Night Shift to Sunset to Sunrise so that it'll automatically provide a better viewing experience at night.
Just go to Settings > Display & Brightness to access the feature.
Working With Siri
Any list of tips and tricks involving iOS devices just seems incomplete without mentioning Siri.
To highlight a few of the virtual assistant's talents, you can ask it to send a message, answer mathematical questions, get suggestions on places to go to, and many others.
One of the best ways to figure out what Siri can do is to simply ask it, "What can you do?"
There you have it — some tips and tricks to make the most of your iPad on iOS 10. Hopefully, they can improve your experience on the Apple slab moving forward.
