M.C. Harry Potter in the house!
Sorry, but with a headline like the one for this story, I had to do it. I know Daniel Radcliffe has been busy in his post-Harry Potter days, from indie films to Broadway to philanthropic work. Apparently, he's also been occupying his time by strengthening his rap game.
Believe it or not, Radcliffe is a huge hip-hop fan, and he silenced all the haters when he appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Oct. 28. Not only did Radcliffe tell Fallon about his obsession with hip-hop, saying he was the first kid in his class to know all the words to Eminem's "The Real Slim Shady," but he also demonstrated his love for the genre by performing another song he knows all the lyrics to, Blackalicious' "Alphabet Aerobics."
Even if you've never heard of the hip-hop duo's 1999 track, you can tell just from the song's title that it is a tongue-twisting, alliterative workout that only gets faster and more difficult as the song goes on. How could Radcliffe possibly muster up the skills to spit these rhymes?
Well, my friends, he does, and he does it well. Maybe it was the adrenaline from The Tonight Show audience, maybe it was the faux American accent he put on during the rap or maybe he really is magical, but whatever it was, it worked.
Radcliffe could actually have a bona fide rap career now, and I don't think anyone would mind. In fact, I think we would all encourage it. Please keep rapping, D. Rad. Never stop.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to re-watch this performance about 27 more times.
