Popular game maker Atari is also venturing into the world of mobile apps. The company has just announced the release of the new RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic for both Android and iOS devices.
With the trend of old-school gaming classics adapting to mobile gaming like Super Mario Run, the release of RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic is very timely. Just like any other famous franchise, the game is not for free. Players can download the app on Google Play Store and Apple Store for $6.
Atari announced the release of the new game last Dec. 22.
"As the creator of the original RollerCoaster Tycoon PC games many years ago, I have seen how much excitement and entertainment they have brought to players all over the world," said Chris Sawyer the Producer of RollerCoaster Tycoon. "It was my long-term ambition to bring the classic game to modern touch screen devices as its visual style and tactile nature are so well suited to smartphones and tablets. I believe fans of the RCT series will greatly enjoy playing the classic titles enhanced on a new platform."
RollerCoaster Tycoon For Smartphones
The game, based on RollerCoaster Tycoon and RollerCoaster Tycoon 2, is redesigned to work for smartphones with touch screens. It boasts of its visual appeal with new and entertaining custom roller coaster building, park design, and many other features.
To be exact there are 95 classic park scenarios derived from the two earlier versions merged in one game. In short, the new RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic is a bigger, better, and concise version.
The new app will enable players to complete the most terrifying and intense out-of-this-world ride. To build rides, premade templates are available; however, for more advanced players, they can choose to build rides piece by piece. Every tool needed to finish the construction will be provided within the game.
In the gaming world, visuals and sounds may make or break a deal. The RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic offers an isometric graphics and authentic park sound scoring to give players a genuine gameplay feel.
Park Management On RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic
Players can also design the park itself including the landscaping. Managing the staff is also part of the game. Money is involved too! Players will have to handle the finances of the park and, at the same time, ensure the enjoyment of the park's guests to keep earning money.
To keep a balanced environment, players also need to build smaller and safer rides, food stalls, and transport inside the park. There are hundreds of other available options to help gamers customize their space.
In the end, the best player gets to be a RollerCoaster Tycoon. Atari released another version of the game for PC in early 2016 together with 100 classic video games in the set called the Atari Vault.
